Beyond the Basics

Sunday - 9:30 am - in the Parlor

This class was created many years ago by a core group of individuals who participated in one of the Church's Basic Training programs geared for learning about Lutheran principals and theology.  The class continues to build on that premise by studying various topics and literature related to scripture and current Lutheran issues.  It has also evolved into a time of prayerful fellowship.

The class has studied numerous books over the years and has just completed And the Angels Were Silent by renowned minister and best selling author, Max Lucado.  This book is devoted to the final week of Jesus' life and the actions and activities that occurred leading up to Easter and His resurrection.

The next book chosen  for discussion is Have a Little Faith by Mitch Albom, a story that interweaves the lives of a reporter, a rabbi, and a reverend in inspiring ways.  Through class discussion, the class believe this book will allow them to analyze how different beliefs can pull human beings together.

This class is facilitated by Bill Vincent (and numerous 'assistants' from time to time).   It is a very informal class and one that is filled with fellowship, prayer, love, and friendship.  They welcome anyone wanting to be a part of this class and share in God's teachings.
