German Fest 2014

Saturday October 11, 2014   11:00 am - 5:00 pm

What a perfect day for our German Festival this year!

The rains cleared, sun came out, and temperatures climbed into the 60's, drawing the largest crowds of the Festival's 3-year history.  Attendees included both church members as well as guests from the community.

The live German music was awesome, the authentic food was absolutely delicious (warm German potato salad anyone?), the children's bounce house was bigger than ever, and our DJ kept the adults hoppin' too.  Mike and Cindy Lockney were crowned as this years Herr & Frau.  Guided tours of our Sanctuary were given, and special history exhibits emphasized our church's German heritage.

First Lutheran welcomed our special guests this year:  Pastor Jim Kinsler (former Pastor at First Lutheran), along with his wonderful wife Martha and their algebra-loving daughter Mary.  Pastor Jim presented an interesting trip down memory lane in the afternoon.

The Festival came to a close with a hymn sing in the Sanctuary, followed by the peaceful Holden Evening Prayer service led by our Senior Pastor, Reverend Ian Reid.
